Cole's Charity Corner
Updated April 04, 2008
Hello,
Thanks to your generous donations and participation in various fundraisers,
we are very happy to say that we're teaming up with Sudbury Little League again
to sponsor the Sudbury T-ball league. The league has been renamed the Matthew
Bardsley T-Ball League and all uniforms have a tribute to Matt. The league has
about 150 players and the kids learn the basics of the game that Matt loved.
If you would like to check out opening day, please feel free to join us at
Curtis Middle School on Saturday, May 3rd at 9am. The timing and place of this
event are at this point tentative, but I'll be sure to send out another email
closer to the event. Last year there was a good showing and we took some great
pictures of us interacting with the kids. This year, due to current restraining
orders on Leonard and Kyle, we hope for a better turnout and hopefully
less legal action.
We're also continuing to give a scholarship in Matt's name to a graduate of
Lincoln-Sudbury. This will be the third year for the "Friends of Matthew
Bardsley Memorial Scholarship" and we have given the award to some good
people in the past. We continue to try to narrow in on certain characteristics
and attributes of people we want to focus on, so please let me know if you have
any suggestions. Before you ask, I was told that "most nipples on a man"
would not fly with the school.
By now we've sent out registration information for this years upcoming
event. Please keep in mind any employer matching gifts that your
company might be willing to offer. The Matthew Bardsley Foundation is an
IRC 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations to the organization are
tax-deductible. If your company needs any additional information, let me
know and I can provide any documentation they request.
I can't wait to see you all at this years golf event. Last year was a
blast and I know this year won't disappoint. If you can think of any ways
to round up some good prizes to give away in the raffles it would be
greatly appreciated. Likewise, if your employer would be interested in
sponsoring a hole, please refer them to Fliss or myself and we'll work
something out.
